Repeat Prescriptions
Repeat Prescribing Policy - Guidance for Patients (click here)
We are pleased to announce that you can now register for the new NHS Wales App to order repeat prescriptions and book GP appointments (previously offered via My Health Online which will be discontinued)
To access the App you must:
- be aged 16 or over
- have a fully verified NHS login, or a valid photo ID to prove your identity
The NHS Wales App is now available to download NOW on your phone or tablet from both Apple and Google Play Stores.
No access to a mobile device? You can still use the NHS Wales App from any PC or Laptop at the following web address:
https://app.nhs.wales/login
We do not take prescription requests over the telephone. Alternatively you can leave a written request at the front desk by using one of our Repeat Medication Request Forms and placing it in the box provided at reception. If you cannot deliver it by hand, we will accept postal requests as long as a stamped addressed envelope is enclosed.
Please allow 3 full working days between ordering your prescription and collecting it.
Prescriptions will be available for collection at the surgery or preferred local pharmacy the following day. Please be aware that it is your responsibility to not leave it until your last pill before coming to the clinic for your prescription.

All patients on repeat medication prescribed by a previous practice must make an appointment with a Dr or Practice Nurse.
Repeat prescriptions have a tear-off slip which lists the repeat medication you are taking. Please keep this slip in a safe place and use it to request your next supply of repeat medication.
Lost prescriptions will be reprinted at the discretion of the Doctor. Prescription items of an addictive nature will not be replaced.
Patients taking oral contraception will not be issued with a repeat prescription unless they have had their blood pressure checked. Appointments can be made with the practice nurse, or attend a Family Planning Clinic of your choice.
When collecting your prescription you may be asked to provide identity. You will be asked to check that all items requested have been issued. You are advised to do so before leaving the premises.
The practice is closed on Bank Holidays and you are advised to order your repeat medication in plenty of time.
Patients on long term medication can arrange with a local pharmacist of their choice for their repeat prescription to be collected from the surgery on the due date each month and dispensed ready for collection. Once your long term medication has been put onto our computer system by the doctor you can request post-dated scripts – and collect monthly prescriptions for up to a three month period.

If you or someone you care for use the same medicines regularly you may not need to get a new prescription every time you need more medicine.
Instead you may be able to benefit from Batch Dispensing from your pharmacy. This means you won't have to visit the surgery or make an appointment to see the doctor, practice nurse or practice pharmacist every time you need more medicine. Talk to either your prescriber (doctor. practice nurse or practice pharmacist) or your community pharmacist who regularly dispenses your prescriptions and ask them if you are suitable for Batch Prescribing.
Emergency Prescriptions
Should you find you need a repeat prescription urgently please explain this to a receptionist. They will follow our in-house procedure for dealing with such requests.
