NOTICE TO ALL PATIENTS REGARDING BLOOD TESTS - Update: 26/08/2021
We have been informed by the Welsh Government that there is a UK-wide shortage of blood bottles due to a problem with the manufacturer.
ONLY ESSENTIAL blood tests will be booked for the foreseeable future. Please note if you have a blood test already the GP will be reviewing whether these are essential. We will be in touch to cancel your appointment if it is not deemed an essential. This shortage is temporary and expected to last up to 3 months. This does mean some tests will be postponed until national stocks recover. Those patients with the highest risk or need will still receive the blood tests they need, however routine blood tests will have to wait.

Coronavirus – Advice for Patients
The latest advice is to self-isolate for 10 days if you have a new continuous cough or high temperature (fever) or loss or change to your sense of smell or taste, or if you have tested positive for Covid-19. Please see the NHS website for information, advice and support. If you are worried about symptoms of Coronavirus you should use the NHS Direct Wales online symptom checker at www.nhsdirect.wales.nhs.uk/COVID19. You should only call 111 if the symptom checker advises you to.
You can help stop the spread of Coronavirus by ensuring you practise good hygiene. Cough and sneeze into a tissue, bin it and immediately wash your hands with soap and hot water for at least 20 seconds. When out in public places, remember to use hand sanitiser regularly and stay socially distanced from others.
